ABOUT
EXCEL Learning Center is the brainchild of Mrs. Vivian Taylor, a successful, highly decorated retired teacher with the Dallas Independent School District for over 50 years of service.
The vision of EXCEL Learning Center originated in 2020, during one of the most turbulent times in our world’s history, the Coronavirus Pandemic. The reality of that vision came to life after Mrs.Taylor’s retirement in August 2022 after the Pandemic left our educational system depleted, and our teachers feeling overwhelmed, overworked, and without a sense of hope. Yet, Mrs. Taylor felt that we were a resilient nation, and one that could come back stronger than ever, and that we must do it for the sake of our children.
EXCEL Learning Center’s goal is to provide a quality, early childhood education, preparing preschoolers for “Big School,” as we affectionately refer to elementary school.
The success that the program has experienced is due to the support and dedication of our staff. We offer a program that fosters encouragement, creativity, room for growth in one of the warmest and most caring environments for children, their families, and staff alike.
OUR PHILOSOPHY
EXCEL Learning Center believes that all children were born capable to learn.Unfortunately, they will not all learn at the same rate of speed. The teachers at EXCEL Learning Center will offer differentiated learning opportunities to target each child’s unique learning modality. Children will be encouraged to soar and explore materials by participating in a variety of activities to spark their interest. We genuinely promote John Dewey’s theory, “children learn by doing”. Therefore, the children entrusted to EXCEL Learning Center will be actively engaged at all times, and the teachers will seek every opportunity to enhance learning even in the mist of dramatic play and fun times.
