UNIQUE TEACHING
&
LEARNING PROGRAMS
TODDLERS
It doesn’t take much to motivate a toddler, but we do try to structure their activities to insure optimum learning. The children at this age are active and curious about everything in their surroundings. We try to fill their day with childhood wonders while helping them develop a strong sense of self. This is best illustrated through the use of songs, storybooks, puzzles, finger play, nursery rhymes, artwork, dress-up, and fun time in the learning stations. At this age, children begin focusing on potty training. However, this independent act is something we work with the parents to help the child obtain. No pressure will be placed on the child, it is something that is obtained at their own pace.
PRESCHOOL
At EXCEL Learning Center, we believe a child’s fullest development at any age is the best preparation for the next level of learning. Our teachers provide encouragement, nurturing, and understanding to help children develop a sense of well-being and confidence. We have specific goals and a print rich curriculum with creative experiences that provide a springboard for learning targeted things such as science, counting, reciting the alphabet, letter recognition, language skills, motor skills, manners and social skills are among the many achievements our preschoolers will be striving to achieve.
PRE-KINDERGARTEN
This is a very critical time in a child’s learning as they prepare to move forward onto kindergarten. It is our desire to make sure that the children in our program have the necessary skills to be successful in kindergarten. We want their first experience with school to be filled with excitement and confidence in all that they know. In addition to their increased focus on language and literacy development, math development, and motor skills development; we will also be concentrating on their social and emotional development to make sure they are equipped and ready for kindergarten. The social and emotional readiness component will enable them to be confident, take on challenges, communicate effectively, and
ultimately have the ability to follow directions in a structured environment where routines and expectations are adhered to daily.
